In 2026, On the Green returns with iconic Australian artist Ben Lee as the headline act. Mark your calendars for Sunday 2 August, and get ready for an exceptional afternoon of live music featuring Ben Lee and his alter-ego DJ Dad Bod, the Clayfield Big Band and the Brisbane City Big Band. Featured Artists

Ben Lee & DJ Dad Bod

With a music career spanning more than three decades, Ben has built a highly regarded solo career, with songs such as Catch My Disease, earning widespread recognition. His extensive catalogue blends infectious melodies with thoughtful, optimistic storytelling, resonating with audiences across generations and earning both critical acclaim and a loyal following in Australia and internationally.

Ben is renowned for his energetic and engaging live performances, and his career reflects creativity, resilience, and a genuine love of connecting with audiences. He continues to evolve artistically, including DJ performances under his playful alter ego, DJ Dad Bod, who will also feature as part of his set at On the Green.

Clayfield Big Band

The Clayfield College Big Band consists of students who are part of the College Music program. The students share a passion for jazz and contemporary art music. The band is directed by Tim Opstelten and is one of the most innovative and aspiring school bands in Brisbane.

Brisbane City Big Band

Enjoy one of Brisbane’s most historically significant community bands that has been entertaining the people of Brisbane for over 110 years. It is also one of the original member bands of the current Bands in the Park program. Under the direction of David Jones, it has a strong, vibrant member base and has played at civic events, Anzac ceremonies and gala concerts throughout the city.

Food & Beverage

A wonderful array of quality food and beverage options will be available on-site throughout the afternoon including:

If you would prefer to bring your own picnic, you are more than welcome to.

Every attempt is made to ensure all dietary requirements are catered for by the contracted food vendors however, if you have a specific dietary requirement, it is advised to bring your own food.

Please note, no BYO alcohol is permitted. This is a fully licensed event.

First Aid

First Aid is available on-site. Please ask Security, Event staff or First Aid officers for help. There will be a first aid service attending the event. Please consider others as well as your own safety. If someone is in need of medical attention, please let Security, Event staff or First Aid officers know so they can help.

Pets

Only service dogs are permitted. If you do plan on attending On the Green with your service dog, please consider ear protection, as in most cases dogs can show extreme signs of stress in conditions with loud music and large crowds. No other dogs or animals of any kind are permitted to On the Green.

Photography and Videography

Professional cameras and video and recording equipment are not allowed. Generally, cameras with powerful zoom lenses or detachable lenses in a carry case are not allowed.

Attendees consent to their photography and videography as members of the audience. By entering the event site, you agree to being filmed or photographed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes. Media and professional photographers must arrange accreditation through marketing@clayfield.qld.edu.au.

Strollers

You are permitted to bring prams and strollers for your children.

Weather

If it does rain the show will go ahead unless conditions are deemed to be dangerous. If the event must be cancelled due to weather, patrons will receive a full refund from point of purchase. If the forecast is for even the possibility of rain bring good quality raincoats and suitable footwear. The decision to cancel a show will be made as early as possible but may not be made until the morning of the show. In the event of inclement weather patrons should check this website BEFORE departing for the show for messages regarding traffic, parking or wet weather arrangements.

Smoking Prohibited

Smoking is not permitted on College grounds.

Event Regulations

On the Green is a licensed event; alcohol is available for purchase at the venue. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought into the venue. No pets are allowed (other than service dogs). All guests will need to comply with these requirements in order to attend the event.
